“This alliance compliments Radiant Communications’ already extensive line of MPEG2 /H.264 HD and SD VIVIDEDGE video encoders and allows our customers to transmit high quality and low latency video over public networks like the internet.” – Thomas Lewis, President at RCC.
SRT leverages a combination of broad video ecosystem components and technology advantages to help companies keep their streams secure and easily traverse firewalls.
SRT Alliance members will help develop and adopt the SRT open source video transport protocol for high quality, low latency video over the internet for broadcast and streaming applications.
“We are very excited about the SRT Alliance initiative and having SRT openly available. Our team looks forward to engaging with peers, collaborating on making SRT robust and integrating SRT into our live and event streaming workflow.” – James Broberg, CEO at StreamShark
“We are excited about using SRT to provide more reliable, low-cost contribution streams from our broadcasters to our network entry points.”- Peter Forman, COO at Tulix.
“SRT is the low-latency glue that bonds the video streaming ecosystem closer together. The rapid adoption of open source SRT by these companies is going to improve the way we all stream, bringing higher quality experiences to our viewers.” – Sylvio Jelovcich, Vice President of Global Alliances at Haivision.
“SRT is the first solution that’s offered freely by the leaders in the streaming industry, that has the potential to transform streaming applications for years to come.” – Charlie Good, CTO & Co-Founder at Wowza.
In aiming to enhance online video streaming, the SRT video protocol has been open-sourced and an alliance forming around that for low-latency video.
The SRT protocol, which can provide latency at 500ms, is going open source. The SRT Alliance encourages developers to contribute improvements.
