Broadcast industry experts discuss solving real world video streaming challenges with SRT open source technology for transporting low latency video over the internet

Montreal, Canada – August 29, 2018 – The SRT Alliance, supporting the SRT Open Source Project, announces a free panel discussion at IBC 2018 featuring broadcast video streaming experts from Al Jazeera, Sky News, Viacom, MediaKind (formerly Ericsson) and Haivision.

SRT (Secure Reliable Transport), developed and pioneered by Haivision, optimizes streaming performance across unpredictable networks with low latency secure streams. SRT, royalty free and available on GitHub, is the fastest growing open source video streaming movement. SRT is supported by VideoLAN’s VLC, Wireshark, FFmpeg, and the GStreamer open source projects in addition to the growing commercial support of the SRT Alliance member companies.

This panel will highlight the usage and implementation the SRT protocol and technology that is quickly becoming the de facto standard for high performance video contribution and distribution over the internet. Haivision and Wowza, the SRT Alliance founders, are hosting the event.
